Children and young people consider the history of slavery to be an important topic and express a desire to learn more about it, according to research conducted by the Children’s Correspondent. The study also reveals that more than half of the children feel shame about this part of history. Hundreds of children and young people from the Kingdom of the Netherlands answered twenty-five questions about slavery, including those from the Caribbean Netherlands. The youth themselves presented the research results at the Mauritshuis to Prime Minister Mark Rutte and Minister Hanke Bruins Slot.
